Why do we like this?

A laid-back, surf-rock leaning track called "California" may seem easy to write off, but allow me to make a case for The Lagoons. The Austin duo have their roots firmly planted in indie rock, but intrepidly reach outside of the genre to customize their sound.

Venturing everywhere from tranquil synth-pop to indie jazz, The Lagoons keep things consistently fresh. With feel-good melodies and foot-tapping beats, "California" is the perfect soundtrack to a sunny morning.

If you enjoy this one I highly suggest giving their Hypocrisy EP a listen.
