To celebrate the release of his latest single "Stone Cold," Brisbane hit-machine The Kite String Tangle (Danny Harley) is sharing an extra special gift with us just prior to the holidays. The track -- my favorite track of his hugely successful debut EP Vessel -- will receive a number of stellar remixes from some of the finest producers going around.
While Amtrac's version was first off the mark last week, Sydney-based legends Hermitude join in today with this re-imagining. It's a perfectly restrained mix from the guys, with shadows of their renowned potent beats blended in with some smoother soundscapes. As in all good remixes, the voices haven't been lost; Harley and Tiana Khasi's criss-crossing vocals are still nicely highlighted. The rework is just another reminder of Hermitude's huge talent, with new music scheduled from their camp in the new year.
This remix will be released as part of a digital remix package shortly, while a five-track vinyl package (featuring two extra remixes from Kilter and Shy Girls), will also be released on Friday, December 19. Late Christmas present, anyone?
