Why do we like this?

Working with artists like 50 Cent, Kid Cudi, Freddie Gibbs, A$AP Rocky, Lana Del Rey, & SZA, The KickDrums comes with an impressive resume.

"She Killed Me With Her Eyes" grabs attention in its own right, free from any preceding accolades. The standout is the more-than-funky bass that makes for a one-helluva-ride type of soundscape. Reminiscent of RJD2 — an established favorite — this track melds hip-hop and indie rock, weaving changes throughout so as to keep attention alive from start to end.

The KickDrums is the recording alias of producer/singer/songwriter Alex Fitts who released LPs in 2011, 2013, and 2015 before taking a break. Following that, 2020 marked the first self-released album and we now await 2021's new LP, The Ghost Tapes, which is due for release fall of 2021.
