My mans FWMJ keeps that good hate on lock, as well as a very dope platform for music you would otherwise be unaware of. Like The Hue.
The Hue is a hip-hop group from Houston that doesn't need to sip liquid heroin or spend five figures on a paint job, but they also don't demonize their braided and faded kinfolk. For their new single, "Slick," the crew spun back the cool blue style of Digable Planet's biggest hit and gave it some 2015 flavor. They even got Ladybug herself to drop a few bars for the people.
Peep the video which further fleshes out the clean, demure but confident adult aesthetic of the group. This is hip-hop for grown folks, in between the grit of the hood and the finesse of high art. It's scattin' on Screw tracks, to borrow a line from the song.
Also, I tried to upload the explicit version because 'clean' edits are for gentiles and Amish children. No luck, though. Sorry. Hopefully The Hue is dropping a full length soon.
