Why do we like this?

Lyrically, I love the story rendered in The Hold Steady’s “Entitlement Crew.” Lead singer, Craig Finn sounds like Tom Petty on a rant about today’s society with The Cars playing in the background.

Finn’s straightforward, well annunciated vocals blare through a standard, yet better than standard, '80s instrumental, complete with keyboard motifs and a running guitar riff.

This track would fit perfect somewhere on the soundtrack of Back to the Future, but just as perfectly as it would on something released this decade.
