Do you need a bit of reggae and bluegrass to shake up your usual indie rock experience? The Hip Abduction has just the track for you. “Oregon” fuses a bit of the reggae-indie rock sound the band has mastered over the years with a lovely swirl of bluegrass, thanks to the burly vocals of phoffman from Greensky Bluegrass. As soon as his verse begins, one feels a rush of warmth which boosts the already very comforting song with its gentle reggae beats and sweeping chorus even more. "Oregon" feels like a peaceful, slightly chilly evening by a fire on the beach, which is fitting for a song referencing the Oregon Coast and Alaska.
The six-man band from Florida, who, in case you were wondering, did get the name of their band from the exercise machine at the gym, has been around since 2010. Their latest album, Stargazers, Wanderers, and Rogues was released back in June, and is a great play for your fall road trips along the coastline or mountain passes.
