Why do we like this?

Florida-based band The Hails are gearing up to release a new EP called He Seems Upset."Heartbeat" comes as the final single, an upbeat and light indie rock song that manages to hit all the right notes.

Normally I'm not a huge fan of falsetto vocals, but these guys have pulled it off perfectly on the song - even balancing a bit of lower-range vocals to provide contrast through the second half.

I'm getting a very "half•alive" vibe out of it (an indie rock band that enjoyed some virality last year). Heck, there's even some Parcels in it.

All-in-all a real winner in my book.
