When we were younger we had a friend from a different province that we would meet up with every holiday. We were teens getting up to semi-innocent mischief and no matter what we were doing, this friend of ours would, always and without fail, want a milkshake. We could be on top of a mountain taking in the view, but we'd have to go down, get in the car, and take him to get a milkshake. Finally, he explained it to us with some 'wisdom' as his sensei-side came to the fore. Turning to us from behind his giant chocolate milkshake, with a big kid-like smile, he said, 'Life's too short, eat dessert first.'
If you agree with this advice from teen-Confucius then you'll skip straight to the 2:30 mark and eat that ultra tasty dessert. I could listen to this song again and again just to get a taste of it.
However, I'm a mature adult (read 'confused like the rest of us') and so I'm partial to the old three-course meal. That bassline for starters gets things going, those smooth vocals really go down well for mains, and finishing off with dessert leaves me fully satisfied. So here's a *chef's kiss* to The Hails' new track "Denial."
