The Greeting Committee are a couple of kids trying to make an indie/alternative band...and succeeding. They released their first EP It's Not All That Bad in 2015 and returned just a few weeks ago with a second EP, Meeting People Is Easy, that you must give a listen.
With a little bit of old school indie rock Shins and Strokes influence and a lot of sass, The Greeting Committee has a great sound; and their vocalist Addie Sartino never fails to bring vocal presence to the strong and occasionally busy instrumental work.
While their EPs are certainly worth a listen, Elise was a switch up acoustic piece released between their two EPs, and I'm incredibly taken with it. It's the most heart-breakingly quaint love song. It seems like it ought only be listened to in the middle of nowhere on the tire swing of an age old oak tree with whoever you've been crushing on for years now. It feels...like a flash back in real time, so please do remember with me.
Also isn't that art just the cutest thing you've ever seen on a single in your life?
