New York trio The Fluids debut single "Creatures" is a rugged slice of 80s post-punk rock that will leave you reeling.
Taking inspiration from Berlin-ear David Bowie and Talking Heads, The Fluids are a hybrid of classic rock and 80s experimental post-punk. Frontman Mike Tony's David Byrne-like vocals only add to the reckless abandonment of The Fluids, with "Creatures" a dense conception of wailing guitars, scattered percussion and vocal screams. It's the kinda tune that makes you wish you lived during the heydays of the 80s, when Studio 54 was alive with sex, drugs and good old fashioned rock and roll.
"Creatures" is just the first taste of what The Fluids have to offer, and if their debut album No Kidding! is half as alluring, I might have found my new favorite band.
No Kidding! is set for release October 27 via Axis Mundi Records.
