Why do we like this?
Hailing from Nashville, The Features bring a brand of music that certainly doesn't like to be boxed in. Ranging anywhere from the new wave sounds of The Talking Heads to a more contemporary, neoclassic alt-country rock sound similar to Dawes, the band seems to have some identity issues.
"This Disorder" comes from their most recent self-titled album. It's a good track, probably my favorite on the record, and as much as I wish they would have ran with this sound, I respect that they're not shy to experiment.
If there's a common denominator in the band, it's that they're good at making pop songs, or rather, songs that pop. There's not one on the album that won't grab your attention. I suppose maybe they wanted to appeal to everyone -- they certainly have enough styles to do just that.
At any rate, "This Disorder" is still my favorite and they must like it too because they've made a rad video to go with it.
