The Drums recently dropped the high energy single "Body Chemistry" and announced their fifth studio album Brutalism.
Lively shakers and energetic drums along with a fat bass groove drive the track forward. Bright guitar riffs interlock occasionally and Jonny Pierce's gentle vocals float over the track, creating a winning combination of aggressive and inviting.
The songs touches on themes of depression and self-care as Pierce cleverly questions whether his chemistry (perhaps a chemical imbalance) is leading to his depression and anxiety, something that self-care and self-love cannot fix.
According to Rolling Stone, "this was the first song Pierce wrote for Brutalism, adding that the song encapsulates the album’s themes of self-care, anxiety, and depression".
Brutalism comes out April 5th via ANTI- Records.
