Sounds like:
The Black Keys,
The Doors,
The Shins
Why do we like this?
We get sent an impossible amount of new music here at Indie Shuffle, and most of it has a long way to go until it's ready for the limelight. So my typical reaction when encountering new music is quite pessimistic...
That said, when Girlie Action Media passed along this new song from a band called The Dig, I had to reassess my bias. "How Can You Trust A Feeling," off the EP Tired Hearts, happens to be a pretty good single.
So, who are The Dig? Turns out there are four members: Emile Mosseri, David Baldwin, Erick Eiser and Mark Demiglio. Together they've crafted a sound not unlike, well...a hybrid of The Black Keys, The Shins and Electric Guest. The net result is something that could have been produced by Danger Mouse (turns out it's close: Bryce Goggin is the producer -- he's done work with Pavement, The Apples In Stereo, Swans, Antony & The Johnsons, etc.).
The EP drops tomorrow. If you dig what you hear, you can grab it over on Bandcamp.
