Why do we like this?
Just the other day I was thinking about Cali quartet The Colourist and the potential for a new single given the lack of releases in the last year. Turns out they're hard at work on a new EP, with their newest single "When I'm Away" signaling the return of these masters of the party pop scene.
Hearing this song for the first time was honestly like drinking from a bottomless bottle of happiness pills. The effervescent production on display here is second to none, and you'd be hard pressed to find a group who possess as much vivacious energy as these guys. Indeed, The Colourist has the best music for power-walking half marathons.
No release date for the EP yet, but I'm sure it's going to be worth the wait.
