Why do we like this?
British electronic duo The Chemical Brothers produce bass-heavy trance-like beats in their newest release, Further. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have been dropping dance anthems since the mid-nineties and have proven themselves time and time again.
While incorporating pop influences into their tunes, the duo is able to grow side-by-side with the mainstream culture without straying from their initial image in the electronic scene.
On Further, "Snow" is a mellow introduction to the rest of the outright dance marathon. Leading into the 11-minute beat throw-down of "Escape Velocity," "Snow" is repetitive while building consistently.
The Chemical Brothers use layering of psychedelic beats and simple, repetitive lyrics to amp up the like-ability and overall catchiness. While the bros are still a downright electronic machine, the rock and roll influences are obvious.
"Dissolve" is hard hitting and explosive. A rollercoaster at heart, the track takes you on a world win of emotions that might just blow your mind.
Known for their laser light and visual shows while playing live, the duo has used Further to truly expand on a new horizon. To accompany the album, and play on their live-act style, they decided to release corresponding films with each song on the album on a DVD.
