Why do we like this?
In preparation for their debut album, Some People I Know, The Brother Brothers have released "Frankie." Accompanied by a video-turned-scrapbook, it's a slow folk ballad with magnetic charm.
The power of minimalist storytelling sweeps us off our feet with a simple stream of polaroids. We watch the duo cavaliering down city blocks, fully at home and brimming with sincerity. It's a poignant track -- one for the evening with the lights low. That chorus is so bare-bones, but hits me like a train. Not to mention those strings and that organ.
I'm certainly looking forward to their new LP. They're clearly masters at their craft.
