After arriving home from New York, and launching straight back into work, I was greeted by an unfamiliar guest in the office: a large standing desk adjacent to my seating area. I thought to myself what a good idea this was because I hate sitting all day. So, I bought a standing desk.
Mere days later: *Monica arrives* She's the owner of the sample standing desk left at the office to tease us. I was pretty stoked at the version I'd bought online (not from her), and we got to talking. She seemed nice -- my desk though, much nicer.
Anyways, on her way out she dropped a quick line about how bad my current desk setup was for my posture. She was right, and I was broken.
A week on from Monica's last visit and I'd completely unravelled. She had tapped my psyche. In that short week, I modded my workspace beyond recognition. An External keyboard; an anti-fatigue mat; this vertical mouse contraption.
It's basically everything I never knew I needed to sit and stand in one place for hours, except for one thing: The Bright Light Social Hour's "Sun King."
This band have been busy this year, releasing two singles and an album, Jude Vol. I. Most importantly though, they've given me hope beyond desk accouterments.
Also, a huge shoutout to their Here Comes The Sun King playlist, which led me to another recent discovery: Klaus Johann Grobe.
