Why do we like this?

On a day when we've published both a review of The Black Keys' new album El Camino and our top 10 best indie covers songs of the year, it only seems appropriate that we post a cover of The Black Keys' "Everlasting Light" (from 2010's Brothers).

The song comes in light of an announcement by Alex Winston that she'll be following up her last album Sister Wife with a new one by the title of King Con. While that's pretty darn awesome, I'd prefer to focus on the more pressing, immediate issue: how awesome this cover is. Perhaps it has something to do with the great production quality (whereas so many acoustic covers are recorded live on a radio station). Or, it could be the unique folk-rock twist she puts on the song... Whatever it is, I like it.
