Out of Brisbane, indie rock band The Art of Sleeping are drawing plenty of attention with their latest single "Empty Hands." Following on from their debut EP Colourblind (2010), this is the first single off a new EP, and will be released later in the year. With a sound situated somewhere between fellow Australian bands Boy and Bear and the Temper Trap, this is a band which has the potential for similar international success.
"Empty Hands" is a driving, intense anthem which builds quickly from the opening chords. Layered percussion and wandering guitar riffs entertain while lead vocalist Caleb Hodges' powerful tones linger above.
A growing local following is bound to swell with the release of more material. More of the same please.
