Why do we like this?
Melbourne psych-pop band The Ancients are gearing up to releasing their third album Night Bus. Formed back in 2009, the critically acclaimed four-piece have developed a reputation for their intelligently crafted music. With first single "Molokai" leading the charge, they now turn to new track "Hey Now."
The Ancients' music is an interesting mix of scuzzy psychedelia and warm, dreamy pop -- a combination that doesn't always translate well. They manage to pull this off with aplomb, highlighted by twisting guitar riff breakdowns and the glowing vocals of lead singer Jonathan Michell.
Another fantastic member of the Chapter Music family, Night Bus is due out on October 18.
