Why do we like this?
I'm really loving this future hip-hop movement. It seems to have expanded from Flume's mind-bending productions, seamlessly blending two shockingly complementary genres to create a gestalt greater than the sum of its parts.
With "Amen," Dutch producer The Admiral combines forces with Los Angeles hip-hop artist Willy Wesly to create a spacey, trap-infused track. Wesly's cadence reminds me a bit of Drake, with the kind of intonation that makes each line seem unpunctuated, endlessly flowing into the next.
If you're a fan of this style I'd suggest giving The Future Movement Vol. 001 compilation a listen. It's full of tasty tunes. Keep up with The Admiral and Willy Wesly on Facebook and download "Amen" here.
