Since the emergence of Lana Del Rey, the floodgates have opened for female singers who aren't of the traditional pop yield.

With Tessa Rae, L.A.'s newest alternative offering, she's reminded us of why we need artists like this in the mix, giving us that dreamy production with husky vocals that we now welcome into our playlists.

Tessa Rae has worked with producers who have generated tunes from The Weeknd and The Neighbourhood. This is a story of coming of age, thus the title "Seventeen." Not a bad debut, and one that could fit nicely into the 2016 emerging musical scene going forward.
