Why do we like this?
Back in April, Indie Shuffle shared a song entitled "Fire" by Carson Henley. Well, it's now time to properly introduce you to Carson's sister, Tess Henley. She's a soul/R&B singer out of Seattle, and her music is melting my blues away right now.
What has me excited about Tess Henley is that she's working with Dice Raw from the Legendary Roots Crew in Philadelphia on her album, which is set to be released sometime this fall. As a fan of Dice Raw, I find myself rooting for Tess' success.
"Daydreaming" is a lovely little summertime tune. It reminds me of a record Corinne Bailey Rae might have released. Tess is having a lot of fun with the music, and after a few minutes I found it too infectious to deny. It helps that Henley has surrounded herself with a talented team of producers and composers, including Khari Mateen, who previously worked with The Roots and Jill Scott. More so, it helps that Tess has the vocal skills and charisma to get "Daydreaming" stuck inside my head.
