Why do we like this?
Tegan and Sara rocked the house last Wednesday at Revolution Live in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Canadian twin sisters have released seven albums since 1999, their most recent one was 2013's Heartthrob -- and the duo still rocks it.
The show was packed to capacity; before the doors opened, the line snaked around for two blocks. Dark trip-hop band Astrea Corp opened up at 8 P.M. sharp. The Miami-based band played for about 40 minutes, and their set featured some great singles, including "Backwood."
The crowd kept coming until Tegan and Sara started playing around 9 P.M. Their set was incredibly energetic -- the crowd (full of hardcore fans) was mesmerized. The sisters played a lot of songs from Heartthrob, including "Goodbye, Goodbye," "I Was A Fool,"and "I'm Not Your Here," and ended with "Closer" before their two-song encore. They also sprinkled in songs from their other six albums, playing both acoustic and electric guitar and keyboards. Tegan and Sara also brought in four additional musicians as their backing band, which included a drummer, bassist, keyboardist, and guitarist.
Before the show, the sisters had just gotten off a cruise, where they had played alongside some pretty big names, including Paramore. If you want to catch Tegan and Sara on tour, check the dates on Facebook. I highly recommend going if they're coming to your city!
