Why do we like this?
Can a teenager be a priest? Apparently so. I reviewed his major 2019 single, "Cool To You," back in September. At the end of my article, I say, "Looking forward to future releases from Teenage Priest!" Well now the time has come, and it does not disappoint.
Quick facts: Taylor Van Ginkel is Teenage Priest. He's based out of Orange County, California, which is where this single was written and produced in January. The wonderfully done, male-female vocal layering in the track is the combination of his vocals and the vocals of his girlfriend, Erin Kim. Taylor had this to say about the meaning behind "Innocent":
It's about a euphoric and undeserved innocent feeling you get when you’re with a mutual/partner. An agreement, almost. Whatever you’ve done wrong doesn’t matter.
I've said it once and I'll say it again: looking forward to future releases from Teenage Priest!
