Why do we like this?
I've been a fan of Teeel for a while, and I'm happy to report that his lilting, new track "Temple Of The Sun" is by far his most accessible to date.
The song comes as part of a 19-track compilation called Retro Future put out by Violent Success and Synthemesc (Synth Records). They describe the selections as "the imagining of the future through the lens of the late 1970s and 80s, with a modern twist." What does that mean for us? "A forward-thinking collection of electronic music that represents the best qualities of both the past and the present while keeping an ever-focused eye on the future."
Think of chillwave, almost dream-pop lifted vocals set over industrial-wave synths "“ perfect for an escapist winter day or an Atari-themed dance party (let's make that a thing).
Needless to say, I'm grabbing the whole collection ASAP. You can download it here.
