Why do we like this?

Tear Council is the new collaboration between Aussie producers Matt Van Schie (Van She) and Michael Di Francesco (Touch Sensitive). They shared this wonderful mixtape two weeks ago, but I've been impatiently waiting for a new track ever since the premiere of their debut single "Anywhere" back in February. 

Finally, the wait is over.  

"My Car" is catchy, coolly subdued, and so, so smooth. The melody is simple and warm, backed by a subtle but vital bass line, and a full palette of sonic color splashes. Once again, the pair has managed to create a sublime track that's equally nostalgic and fresh, with just a hint of tongue-in-cheek.

Tear Council is playing their very first live show ever on June 4 as part of Sydney's VIVID Festival. Keep an eye out for an accompanying video clip coming soon.
