Why do we like this?

Foo Fighter's drummer Taylor Hawkins is back with a new six-track project set for release next week.

Having previously released two albums with his group the Coattail Riders and one as part of trio The Birds Of Satan - with Wiley Hodgden and Mick Murphy - Hawkins' latest effort, KOTA, is a almost entirely recored by him and has been called a "meditation on life as a rock star stranded in the suburbs."

The first single from the mini-album, "Range Rover Bitch," is nearly three minutes of 70s influenced rock, complete with an anthemic hook, rugged guitar riffs, and Hawkins sold vocals.

This should be an interesting release as Hawkins always delivers intriguing albums with his solo material.

KOTA is set for release November 11.
