Here's a fresh new face to Indie Shuffle from New Zealand by the name of Taxidermy Hall. His musical journey started at a young age, and now, breaking away as a solo artist based in New York, Taxidermy Hall gives us his first single called "Window Shop."
At first listen, Taxidermy Hall reminds me of a combination of HONNE and SAFIA, but "Window Shop" has a real uniqueness that is smooth and genuine. Taxidermy Hall had this to say about his tune,
"When I moved here there was a lot of uncertainty. On one hand there was this huge adventure in front of me -- I spent 5 months travelling the U.S. with nothing to care about but making sure I had a bed where I was. it was truly amazing, but on the other hand I had given up a lot. So many of the things I cared most about felt (and were) so far away. I had this constant, nagging balance of excitement mixed with nostalgic emotional dissonance, as if I were in some kind of halfway house between one life (in Melbourne) and the next (in America). It was throughout this adjustment period that I wrote the song and produced the video with good friend and amazing camera operator/ director Alisha Wetherill."
And if you have a minute, the music video is worth the visual delight.
