Why do we like this?
“Haydee” is a prime example of Argentinian-Italian musician, songwriter, and producer Tati Falco’s foreign-language alternative indie goodness. This fun, lighthearted, synth-laden Spanish track offers a small respite from the stresses of the day-to-day. I have no idea what the lyrics mean, but that grooving, walking bassline distracts me from worrying about it at all.
The track blends traditional Spanish sounds and instruments with modern indie rock seamlessly, making for a gorgeous track that just gets better each time you hear it.
The instrumentation has a slight garage-rock, shoegaze feel to it, but the softness of the vocals turns it into a genre-hopping masterpiece that defies pinning down. It’s really quite lovely.
“Haydee” is his second release for 2021, following his previous single “Selva y Mar,” which was released in April.
