Why do we like this?

Chicago based songwriter/poet/activist/dream girl Tasha just released this summer's dreamiest love song yet. With the confident and powerful Divine Love EP under her belt, and a debut album on the way, which is about being gentle with yourself, she's well on her way to becoming the self-love icon that we need these days.

"Kind of Love" is a refreshing departure from the beat-driven tracks on 2016's Divine Love. It's softer and more tender than the songs she's put out in the past. Tasha's voice is buttery smooth, gliding and dripping over the soft and gentle guitar line and the glimmering twinkles of percussion. Lines like "What is all your golden light for, if not to sing about?" remind me of what it feels like to fall in love. It's the way I've always wanted to love someone. The way I've always hoped to love myself.

Listening to this song paints everything in a peaceful haze, and at least for a few minutes, it lets me forget about the scary reality that we live in. I see Tasha bathed in golden light, lying in the middle of a big open field with long grass swaying in the gentle summer breeze, singing this song. The world is at peace and time stands still. To be gentle and soft, to dream of peace and tranquility in a world that tells you not to; it's a different kind of radical, don't you think?

Alone At Last will be out October 26th on Father/Daughter Records. Until then, put this song on and remind yourself that you deserve this kind of love.
