The blog Gorilla vs. Bear does this pretty cool thing where they let artists take over their blog. A while back Grimes was behind the wheel; yesterday it was Memory Tapes.
As tends to happen, he took the opportunity to showcase some of his eclectic taste. Fortunately for us, he also released this amazing remix of Tame Impala's "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards."
The original song has garnered a fair bit of attention, probably because the band has weighed heavily on it live. Personally I think they've got better tracks up their sleeves, but if there's anything that could sway my mind, it's this remix.
That's because Memory Tapes adds a wonderful layer to the nostalgic throwback-sound of the original. It's almost like this track was written and composed in 2012, again.
