Why do we like this?

Tahiti 80's latest album The Past, the Present, and the Possible might have received less-than-exciting reviews from the major press (ahem, Pitchfork), but there's one track that's a stand out for me: "Easy." It has a happy feel to it, one representative of the French indie pop scene (a la Jamaica).
Tahiti 80 has been around for ages, starting out somewhere near Paris in 1993. I can't help but say they remind me a bit of Phoenix, but when you boil things down that's probably just because they're French.
