Make a move, some luvstep is about to enter your life. In case you aren't familiar with the term (and I wasn't), think funk, R&B, nu disco and slow jam all smashed together.
Antonio Cuna, aka SWEATER BEATS, is the newest addition to the fantastic
HUH WHAT & WHERE crew - a roster that already features talented producers such as Bahwee and Ackryte. Cuna is a N.Y.-native known for his club mixes that bump bass, chop vocals and roll synths.
He just dropped his first track with the label, a fresh piece of boom-bap R&B that remixes Cassie's "Me and You." On a side note, it seems like the boys over at HW&W really like Cassie, as Bahwee also has a completely different version off of his EP Sketches, aptly titled "Cassie Remix." While his version is more for chill listening, Cuna goes for a smooth get-down-and-boogie piece. It's like 90's R&B power hour; your ears will come away feeling all hot and heavy.
Loving how the HW&W boys re-imagine hip hop classics? Check out another Sweater Beats' track titled "Anxious" that heavily samples Ginuwine's "So Anxious."
Sweater Beats' new EP comes out later this year. In the meantime, I recommend bouncing to
Young Love/Heartbreak Vol. 2 and following HW&W's
Tumblr in order to get the latest on all their newest releases. These guys are just getting started.
