There are a lot of great emerging female vocalists that I've been listening to recently -- Ellie Goulding, Lissie (Song of the Day to come!), Zola Jesus, and now, Sunday Girl.
UK's very own Sunday Girl is the electro pop (heavy on the pop) solo project of Jade Williams, former pet shop worker, as the story goes. She's worked with producers like Diplo (remix featured today) and Jim Elliot, and her breathy vocals are extremely catchy.
Like the track? Give it a heart on HypeM!
She's only released singles and EPs (you can download some here), and I couldn't find much info about whether or not a full album is in the works (although I bet it isn't too far off judging by her recent success). Will she join the legendary female pop ranks of La Roux, Florence + The Machine, or Feist ? Eh, maybe not. But her songs are entertaining and she's cute as hell. Plus, her remix of MGMT's "Time to Pretend" is pretty adorable.
