Sounds like:
Flume,
Absofacto,
Chet Faker
Why do we like this?
The very first time I heard F Y F E, he absolutely blew my mind. To this day, "Solace" ranks highly among the best debut singles that have crossed my path, and with good reason. Follow-up tracks "Lies" and "St. Tropez" were good in their own right -- as was his whole EP -- but none of them blew me off my feet the way his first song did.
Fortunately, F Y F E has managed to mix things up and catch me off guard with his first ever remix (that I'm aware of, at least). Tackling the single "Fresh" by surf-pop group Summer Camp, the 23-year-old Londoner has completely transformed its sound into a lush landscape of electronics and harmonies. The end result without doubt merits a feature as today's Song of the Day.
On that note, it's worth mentioning that Summer Camp's new self-titled album comes out Sept 9th. You can grab a pre-order here.
