Put together a mix of contemporary electronic genres (trip-hop, post-dubstep, ambient) and a dose of Indian classical music, and you get Sulk Station, a duo (Tanvi and Rahul) based out of Bangalore, India.
On "Contentment," Tanvi's vocals are accompanied by minimalistic beats as ambient effects play around in the background, and the downtempo track culminates with a strong bass line that single-handedly escalates the mood of the song. The first time I heard this song, I couldn't believe such music was being composed in India.
With the rise of the Internet comes a spike in the Indian independent music scene.
