Streethawkers is the creation of Sydney based producer Keegan O'Shea. His debut EP Agoraphoria is a cruisy, percussion-laden release. It's filled with tiny rhythms and intricate soundscapes. The lead single, “St Kilda,” is a gliding ‘ode to the world’ featuring Alex Sabastian on vocals. O’Shea says the track “is the product of a hangover, poor sleep and limited air conditioning; the sonic representation of dreams of a weekend on a Tuesday.’
“St Kilda” is the most radio-friendly track on the EP and acts to ease the listener into the more complex and polyrhythmic tracks “Fowlers” and “Loins,” which showcase O’Shea’s clean balance of percussion and gentle, abstract instrumentation. The EP’s third track, “Little Bean,” opens with a jarring array of synths and noise only to round out into a distorted yet delicate collection of synths and percussion.
