As the battle steams ahead on the Indie Shuffle timeline between my slightly darker, left-field selections and the lighter melodies of Jason's picks I can't help but think of Star Wars. Never was I an avid fan, but similar light and dark side ideals sit at the forefront of George Lucas' masterpiece saga.
What I may have missed when watching the famous series was a deeper understanding that both sides of the coin are necessary; somewhat codependent. Love and hate; happy and sad; because without the one the other does not exist. This idea bodes well for Star Wars nerds though because it means the franchise shall never die.
It's a bit weird in our case though because I am definitely not Jason's father. However, you can rest assured our battle will continue to blunder forward, in a noticeably more symbiotic manner.
Right, about the song, Turkey-based Mustafa Yuksel is Stars Like Dust. The '80s sound to "Fly High" has a Yellow Magic Orchestra feel to me that I've been pretty crazed about recently. This one comes off Kanto Records, whose SoundCloud I will be raiding.
