In a very soft way, Australian electro-soul artist Olivia Gavranich under the moniker St. South, shares the powerful journey of moving out from beneath a love that isn't healthy in her new song "RED." Speaking to the track, the artist explains that "RED" is about "mustering the strength to walk away from someone who doesn’t treat you how you deserve to be treated."
A songwriter, singer, self-taught producer, and multi-instrumentalist, St. South takes us through a delicate hip-hop-inspired beat as her vocals float across the track with tender, yet high-impact lyrics, singing:
You have your eyes on red
I might just phone a friend
if you hadn't sheltered me from them
if you weren't so jealous of every fucking thing .
Garnering a huge following from 2016's EP, Nervous Energy, & 2017's Inure, Gavranich has now released the highly anticipated debut album, Get Well Soon. Listen to the full album here. Keep an ear out for "Not Angry Yet" and "intermission"...just a couple of personal favourites.
