Why do we like this?

I can't say that I've been waiting anxiously for something new from Spoon, but now that it's here I'm giddy as a schoolgirl.

"Rent I Pay" is the first single off the veteran band's upcoming album They Want My Soul, due for release on August 5th. It's a staccato affair, introducing nothing particularly new or mindblowing -- and in doing so, perhaps whetting the appetite of hardcore fans enough to generate some buzz.

Keep posted: there are 10 tracks on this album, so we're hoping a few more singles will float our way.
