Why do we like this?
Kathryn Baar, aka Spelles, has been humming songs that are slowly starting to take shape, essentially setting her apart from the plethora of Los Angeles-based artists. She takes pop music and breaks it away from all of the standards, adding a big punch to it with the rumbling percussion, chorus, and hooks.
Her newest single "Bird In A Cage" is a great example of her technique. Working with producer Bill Lefler, they’ve created something hauntingly beautiful that contains enough gusto to push it into pop territory.
There isn't much yet known about Spelles, but there's no doubt that her newest single will have ears and heads turning. So hold on tight, and expect to hear a new name in the game of pop music.
