Why do we like this?
Austin indie rock band SPEAK has just dropped their first new track in almost two years, titled "Peaks." At first listen, it sounds so familiar, yet so different. It's one of those tracks that stretches your tuned ear to a broader range of likening. It's also one of those tracks that doesn't come along very often. I am finding out that the song is getting better and better with each listen.
Taking a step back into SPEAK's catalogue to give some of their old tunes a listen, I have noticed the development and growth this band has made over the past few years. It should be interesting and exciting to see a new full-length album from these guys and the direction they take things to.
With no official release date set, the band is touring a few dates with Ra Ra Riot over the upcoming months. If you're digging the track as much as I am, be on the look out for more updates from SPEAK.
Free download available on their SoundCloud page.
