Why do we like this?
Adding their own stamp to the synth-pop craze that's been taking over the blogosphere is the London duo SPC ECO (pronounced space echo).  Consisting of Rose Berlin's breathy vocal stylings paired with jack-of-all-trades Dean Garcia (formally of the indie rock band Curve), SPC ECO are looking to expand their notoriety with the release of a a new album sometime this year following up a string of EP releases you can find on their Bandcamp page.

The first single off the soon-to-be released album is called "Delusional Waste," and it's the perfect introduction to the band's brand of electronic indie pop.  Fueled by a Depeche Mode-inspired beat, and featuring synths washing over your brain with an almost industrial and futuristic feel, this track makes you wonder if you just got out of Korben Dallas' cab in The Fifth Element.  Then Berlin's vocals enter and manage to take the whole thing back to the 80s new wave heyday.  Definitely an accomplishment when you can make something sound futuristic and vintage all at the same time.

If you dig the track, you can also check out some remixes done by the likes of Lady Barcelona and PigGYfUcK right here.  Enjoy!
