Hello everyone. Thank you for joining me in our quarantine journey. Since my state is enforcing a "Shelter-in-place" order on Thursday and I have literally no hobbies outside of music, I will have tons of time to post wonderful music to this wonderful website.
My first review from my (parents') home will be "King Prawn the 1st" by Spang Sisters. Me, along with everyone else in the world, is wondering who King Prawn is?! We are demanding he shows his face. I'm picturing a prawn with eyes and a crown on. What are you picturing? Drop it in the comments below.
So the Spang Sisters, a self-proclaimed "sleazy" five-piece from Bristol, England. Their nostalgic production and akin, soulful vocals had me assuming this song was released during the funk-infused '60s or '70s. Plot twist: it was released last year. Either way, I'm late. As if the quixotic intro wasn't enough, the Spang Sisters implement guitar pop, reminiscent of Mac Demarco and other indie acts.
If you need some dazzling nu-soul in your life, look no further.
