I love the fact SoySauce had managed to balance the self-mocking and serious DJ approach to his music. With silly Photoshop images and introducing tracks on SoundCloud with the comment "here goes nothing," I sincerely hope in he knows what a beast of a discography he's building.
If you put aside my obsession with Australian tropical dance music, SoySauce brings a glitzy spruce to what could be a very standard American house track. "Broken Record" is a fantastic piece of production work that truly glows with the addition of indie folk singer Joni Fatora.
This track is so unique compared to other dance tracks around at the moment. With the Southern Hemisphere chucking out summer-laced vibes and the Northern Hemisphere resorting to hard dance numbers to get us through the winter, why not try something refreshingly agnostic (in terms of the weather) and daydream away to it's placid beats.
P.S. Anyone else hear John Newman's "Blame" in that opening bar? Hmm...
