Why do we like this?

There's nothing particularly fancy about Soul Catalyst's "Scenic Route." No gimmicks, no drops, no fancy hooks. Nothing too aggressive.

Instead, I find myself won over by the wonderfully cute vocal play throughout the track. It has a sort of Tom Misch meets Carmody feel to it that, coupled with the easy-going house-like instrumentals, makes for a thoroughly agreeable listen.

The track is six months old, and LA-based Soul Catalyst has released plenty since then. Be sure to check out his SoundCloud for more.
