Why do we like this?
Melbourne's Sons et al. have been ticking along nicely since their formation in 2012. The four-piece have done a good job carving out their own niche in a world overflowing with indie pop music, with a number of successful releases and support slots garnering them plenty of attention. With a trip overseas to the upcoming Canada Music Week to look forward to, the band also recently released their third single from their upcoming second EP Godspeed.
"Day By Day" is a great tune with plenty to love about it. Glistening guitar chords, driving percussion, and throbbing bass cuts are joined by some fantastic vocal arrangement, giving this track an introspective feel that will appeal to fans of The xx and some of Foals' lighter work. Produced by DEJA's Jack Arentz and UK outfit the Slips (New Order, Massive Attack), it's got some serious slickness to it too, which is vital for expansive music like this.
Godspeed will be available for you all to enjoy on March 14, and you can pre-order it on iTunes if you're so inclined.
