Sonnymoon's 2014 LP, The Courage of Present Times, merits revisiting. A cosmic drama, in my ears it told a story of universal love through warm and jarring sound-colors. One of my favorite tracks is "Trust Fall," with it's sweeping chorus beautifully delivered by Anna Wise. It made me feel like riding a hot air balloon (and I've never ridden a hot air balloon).
But I have smoked weed with P.U.D.G.E., which is kinda sorta similar. The beat maker and artist is criminally slept on. After being a critical component of LA's lauded beat scene, he relocated to New York where he's been dedicated to building community just the same.
He linked with Anna and Dane of Sonnymoon and flipped "Trust Fall" into "Fall In Trust." Where there was ease and breeze, P.U.D.G.E. pushes to stretch your listening. A slow-burner of a remix, when all comes together -midway through, it feels like the moments of peak bliss in a perfect trip.
