Right on the heels of their newly release Bones, Son Lux brings us multiple mixes of one of the album’s greatest singles, "Undone."
One of the new versions, titled "Redone," is potentially the most grandiose song we have ever heard from Son Lux. Totally different to "Undone" (which features tribal-esque drums), "Redone" invokes Muse-like theatrical qualities. Also different is that Ryan Lott (aka Son Lux) does not sing lead vocals on this track, and instead passes the hypothetical microphone to Brooklyn-based rising star Olga Bell. This does not alter the typically dark, slightly schizophrenic musicality that we love about Son Lux, and further proves that collaboration is a true strength of the project. While the lyrics are overshadowed by the monumental instrumentals, there is definitely a cinematic air that makes us feel like we’ve just gone on an epic journey without actually knowing what just happened.
